What to Expect on Your Tour
Touring Partake takes about 20–30 minutes and requires no commitment. There’s no pressure to sign anything — our goal is to show you the kitchens, understand your business, and help you figure out if Partake is the right fit.
Tours are available at our 长滩 location (456 Elm Ave) and our Los Angeles/Glassell Park kitchen facility (3729 Verdugo Rd, Los Angeles, CA 90065). Tours en español disponibles — just let us know when you book.
What to Bring
- A description of your food business or concept (no formal plan required)
- Any questions about permits, equipment, or production needs
- A colleague, business partner, or advisor — all are welcome
- Nothing else — no permits, no insurance, no commitment needed to tour
- Arrive and check in: You are sent a calendar invite with the customer service phone numbers to call upon your arrival. Simply call us and let us know you’re here for a kitchen tour. Street parking is available— food truck and larger vehicle access is available based on street parking availability, just let us know when you book.
- Walk the kitchens: We’ll walk you through every kitchen type at this location: hourly commercial kitchens, monthly prep stations, and the Chef’s Kitchen and Commissary Kitchen. We’ll show you the equipment, prep surfaces, hoods, refrigeration, and storage options so you can see exactly what you’d be working with.
- See the storage and common areas: We’ll walk through the dry storage area, walk-in refrigerator, walk-in freezer, and common-area facilities. Many members add storage to their plan — we’ll show you what’s available.
- Talk through your business: This is where we focus on you. Tell us what you’re producing, your current volume, your permit situation, and your timeline. We’ll recommend the kitchen type and plan that fits your stage — whether that’s a few hourly sessions, a monthly prep kitchen, or a commercial kitchen lease.
- Get your permit questions answered: If you need a health permit, a commissary agreement for a food truck, or help navigating the LA County DPH process, we’ll walk you through it. Partake has an exclusive program with the Long Beach Health Department that can fast-track your inspection timeline.
- Receive a written follow-up: Within 24 hours of your tour, we’ll send you a written summary of the kitchen options that fit your business, along with pricing and next steps. No surprise calls. No pressure. Just the information you need to make a decision.
Who Should Book a Tour?
Tours are ideal for caterers, bakers, food truck and cart operators, CMFO and sidewalk vendor permit-holders, ghost kitchen and delivery-only brands, meal prep services, specialty food producers (sauces, confections, tamales, CPG), cottage food businesses, MEHKO graduates, and anyone who needs a licensed commercial kitchen to launch, scale, or permit their food business in Los Angeles County.
Common Questions Before Booking
Do I need a health permit before I tour?
No. You do not need any permits, a business license, or insurance in place before touring. You only need these in place before your first production session. Our team will explain exactly what you’ll need during the tour.
How long is the tour?
Most tours run 20–30 minutes. If you have a lot of questions or want to see both locations, budget up to 45 minutes.
Will I be pressured to sign anything on the tour?
No. Tours are informational only. We will follow up with a written pricing summary within 24 hours — you decide if and when you’re ready to move forward.
Can I tour both the Long Beach and Glassell Park locations?
Yes. We encourage it if you’re deciding between locations. Both are available for tours — just book separately or let us know and we’ll try to schedule them back-to-back.
How quickly can I start using the kitchen after touring?
Hourly kitchen users can typically be up and running within three weeks of touring. Monthly kitchen operators are usually operational within 45 days, including permit processing.
Do you offer tours in Spanish?
Yes. Tours en español están disponibles. Please note your language preference when booking and we will pair you with a Spanish-speaking team member.
